Getting Here

The hotel is about twenty to twenty-five minutes by road from the Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (MED). Most of the pilgrims can either hire a cab or have private transfers, which their travel agents organize. Normally, there is a rule on taxi fares but always insist on metered fare or agree beforehand on the amount to be paid. If yo,u are coming in through Haramain High-Speed Railway station, then it’s another fifteen-to-twenty-minute drive by taxi to th,e hotel. The railway station has now connected Medina with Mecca and Jeddah; hence this is also becoming one of the popular entry points.

The drop-off can get really packed, with the whole street in front of the hotel lined up with buses dropping off or picking up group pilgrims (ziyarah) to Madinah. If you have a lot of luggage, then prepare for some bit of struggle at the entrance as porters seem to be overwhelmed during peak check-in times. Keep your documents handy and try staying together as a lobby that gets crowd mad with simultaneous group check-ins is not easy to navigate through.

You do not need any transportation within Medina for your daily prayers because you will be walking. You can easily get a taxi from the main road to historical places such as Masjid Quba or Mount Uhud. The hotel reception is also able to arrange a private car, or even better and cheaper, join a group bus tour for these Ziyarah visits (the most economical way tourists see all the holy sites around the city).
